Today is the Sabbath. That means 'rest' in Hebrew. And in this world of ever increasing stress, ever increasing demand for higher productivity; ever increasing demand for greater speed, we need that... rest... more than ever. But we need not only rest but peace too. True peace can only come from our Creator; from getting to know him. So, turn off and tune out. Disengage yourself from the world for a moment.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath [rest] of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work [...]: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.Exodus 20:9-11
Get out in nature and unwind. Take a good long look at the beauties of this world and forget the rush of life for 24 hours. Get to know the Creator through his creation. Spend time with family and friends building up those relationships too. You will not only feel rested but you will be blessed too!
